James Burnett, Lord Monboddo
James Burnett, Lord Monboddo (dibaptis pada 25 Oktober 1714; wafat pada 26 Mei 1799), adalah seorang hakim, cendekiawan evolusi linguistik , filsuf dan deis Skotlandia. Ia sekarang dikenal sebagai pendiri linguistik sejarah komparatif modern. Pada 1767, ia menjadi hakim dalam Pengadilan Sesi .
