George Mathew Fernandes^[3] (3 Juni 1930 – 29 Januari 2019) adalah seorang mantan anggota serikat dagang, politikus,^[4] jurnalis,^[5] pakar agribudaya, dan anggota Rajya Sabha India dari Bihar.^[6] Ia adalah anggota penting dari Janata Dal, dan pendiri dari Partai Samata. Ia memegang beberapa portofolio kementerian yang meliputi komunikasi, industri, perkeretaapian, dan pertahanan, dan merupakan satu-satunya menteri Kristen dalam kabinet Perdana Menteri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.^[7]
