Dinasti Chera (atau Cēra, IPA: [t͡ʃeːɾɐ]), juga dikenal sebagai Kedalaputho,^[2] dari masa awal atau periode Sangam di India selatan, menguasai belahan negara bagian saat ini dari Kerala dan Tamil Nadu.^[3]^[4] Chera, yang juga dikenal sebagai salah satu dari mu-ventar (Tiga Raja Bermahkota) dari Tamilakam (negara Tamil) bersama dengan dinasti Chola dan dinasti Pandya, terdokumentasi seawal-awalnya pada abad ketiga SM.^[5]^[6] Negara Chera secara geografis beradal di ujung semenanjung India yang diuntungkan dari perdagangan laut melalui jaringan Samudra Hindia. Pertukaran rempah-rempah, khususnya lada hitam, dengan para pedagang Timur Tengah atau Yunani-Romawi tercatat dalam banyak sumber.^[7]^[8]^[9] Pengaruh Chera meluas sepanjang Kerala tengah dan Tamil Nadu barat sampai akhir masa sejarah awal di India selatan.^[3]
