John Charles Frémont (21 Januari 1813 – 13 Juli 1890) adalah seorang pimpinan militer Amerika, penjelajah, kandidat pertama Partai Republik untuk menjadi Presiden Amerika Serikat, dan kandidat presiden pertama dari sebuah partai besar yang menentang perbudakan. Selama 1840-an, pers penny ketika itu memberikan Frémont gelar The Pathfinder, yang masih digunakan, kadang-kadang sebagai "The Great Pathfinder".^[1][2]
