Mouseion

Musaeum atau Mouseion di Alexandria (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Μουσεῖον τῆς Ἀλεξανδρείαςcode: grc is deprecated ), yang mencakup Perpustakaan Alexandria,^[1] adalah sebuah lembaga yang didirikan oleh Ptolemy I Soter atau mungkin putranya Ptolemy II Philadelphus.^[2] Pada awalnya, Musaeum ("Institusi Muses") adalah tempat pembelajaran musik atau syair, sebuah sekolah filsafat dan perpustakaan seperti Akademi Plato, yang juga merupakan gudang teks-teks.^[3]
