Kepangeranan Akhaya atau Morea adalah salah satu negara vassal Kekaisaran Latin, yang merupakan negara pengganti Kekaisaran Romawi Timur setelah jatuhnya Konstantinopel selama Perang Salib Keempat.^[1] Negara ini juga pernah menjadi vassal Kerajaan Thessalonika bersama dengan Kadipaten Athena hingga Thessalonika direbut oleh Theodoros, Despot Epirus, pada tahun 1224. Sesudah peristiwa ini, Akhaya sempat menjadi kekuatan yang dominan di Yunani.

Pendirian

Akhaya didirikan pada tahun 1205 oleh William dari Champlitte dan Geoffrey I dari Villehardouin yang menaklukkan wilayah Peloponnesos untuk Boniface dari Montferrat, Raja Thessalonika. Dengan jumlah pasukan yang tidak lebih dari 100 ksatria dan 500 pasukan infantri, mereka merebut Akhaya dan Elis, dan mereka menjadi penguasa wilayah Morea setelah mengalahkan orang-orang Yunani lokal dalam Pertempuran Koundouros.
