Jacques Ellul (6 Januari 1912–19 Mei 1994) adalah seorang filsuf, sosiolog, teolog, and anarkis Kristen. Ia menulis beberapa buku mengenai "masyarakat teknologis", dan mengenai Kekristenan dan politik, seperti misalnya Anarki dan agama Kristen (1991) - mengatakan bahwa anarkisme dan agama Kristen sama-sama secara sosial mengikuti tujuan yang sama.

Salah satu filsuf yang paling banyak berpikir tentang mendekati teknologi dari suatu titik pandang yang deterministik, dan sebagian bahkan mengatakan fatalistik. Ellul, yang menjadi profesor di Universitas Bordeaux, menulis sekitar 40 buku dan ratusan artikel sepanjang hidupnya. Tema yang dominan dari tulisan-tulisannya adalah bagaimana membahas kemerdekaan manusia dan iman Kristen yang diciptakan oleh teknologi. Keprihatinannya yang terus-menerus adalah menyangkut munculnya suatu "tirani teknologi" atas umat manusia. Sebagai seorang filsuf dan teolog, ia lebih jauh menjelajahi religiositas dari masyarakat teknologis.
