Dalam fisika bentuk padat, fungsi kerja (bahasa Inggris: Work function) adalah kerja termodinamika (yaitu energi) minimum yang diperlukan untuk mengeluarkan elektron dari padatan ke sebuah titik kehampaan langsung diluar permukaan padat.
