The Legend of Malin Kundang
Malin Kundang was a poor boy who lived with his mother near the beach. One day, he decided to sail to another land to change his fate. After many years, Malin became a rich merchant and married a beautiful woman.
One day, Malin’s ship arrived at his hometown. His mother recognized him and happily approached him. However, Malin was ashamed of his poor mother and refused to admit her. Heartbroken, his mother prayed to God to punish him.
Suddenly, a big storm came and Malin’s ship was destroyed. Malin was turned into stone.
